Fun Facts About Aotearoa New Zealand
Aotearoa New Zealand, is an island nation in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The Māori people are the native indigenous people of Aotearoa. You can learn more about the Māori culture and language here - www.newzealand.com/nz/maori-culture
Our capital is located in Wellington and we are a Commonwealth country. As we are a Commonwealth nation, we drive on the left hand side of the road and spell in UK English over American English. The Kiwi bird is our national bird, and New Zealanders are commonly known as ‘kiwis’.
